Today is Juneteenth Day!

As always we have been busy here at Mahoosuc Guide Service! We are proud to have just launched our new website which was not any small feat. Click here to see our new site plus our summer canoeing schedule and next winter’s dog sledding calendar.

We still have some room on our canoe trips on the Allagash River, West Branch of the Penobscot River and Way of the Wabanaki cultural trip.

Polly had a sad good bye to a very unfortunate porcupine who wandered into our dog pasture. She had to take four dogs to the emergency clinic on a Sunday morning which cost a pretty penny! Luckily all the dogs are fine. There was a little party outside the vets with three other woman all there with their quilled dogs!

Kevin had two great trips this May, one on the Wolastoq (St John) river and one on the Allagash River. He has also been guiding on the Kokolik River in Alaska in June for one of our past apprentices who owns and operates Arctic Wild.

Click here to see the article about Polly in the Northwoods Sporting Journal and her legendary Maine guide award (page 5). Polly also just taught “Women in the Stern” workshops at the Maine Canoe Symposium, a very popular class!

This video is not new but we feel very well done about “who we are”. If you would like to be notified of other videos being posted on Youtube please “subscribe” to our channel by hitting the bell icon on the right side. Here is a nice video about one of our Allagash trips.

We will be hosting another Wilderness First Aid course in our lodge October 21-22nd and an Open Recertification course October 21-23rd taught by Jon Tierney of Wilderness Medical Associates.

Hope to see some of you on a canoe trip this summer!
