Winter was slow in coming but when it came, it came in full strength!
Winter was slow in coming but when it came, it came in full strength!
We have been busy guiding dog sledding trips since just after Christmas. People are really enjoying being out in the natural world!
We had a film crew out with us for a TV Show “Weekends with Yankee” which will be aired nationwide in April. Host Richard Wiese enjoyed his time with our Yukon Huskies!
A few of our past apprentices came to visit or help on trips this early winter which was very nice to have them back! Thanks Kate, Grant, Eliot and Jule for staying in touch. Auden and Becca are working hard here this winter helping to keep everything running smoothly for guests and dogs.
Here are a couple videos made from previous trips with us by one of our Penobscot guides, Jason. For Dog Sledding with Harvard University click here, for Canoeing on the Allagash River click here. Thanks Jason for going down memory lane with Mahoosuc!
We had two dogs who were sled dogs and became pets, Connor Jr and Maura. They both have passed over to doggy heaven within a month of each other, in different loving homes. Thank you to their new owners for giving them such nice long lives being pampered pets!
To see our dog sledding schedule for the rest of the winter click here. To schedule a day trip, call or email us. To see our canoeing schedule for summer 2022 click here. It is not too early to sign up for next spring or summer.
Hope to see some of you on a trip in the future!

Canoeists must use designated campsites on the waterway and there is no reservation system. In peak periods if paddlers don’t secure a campsite by mid-day or shortly thereafter, they may end up […]
For many avid canoeists, the Allagash River Canoe Trip is on their bucket list, and for good reason. Protected by the citizens of Maine through a referendum in 1966, the mandate was to preserve its “forever wild” state. It truly is some of the wildest areas left in the east. In this article, we’ll help […]
Hosting a real authentic dog sledding trip is not easily done… although many try, but no one can duplicate the experience that Polly and Kevin have been providing for almost forty years. Guests are pampered with thoughtful considerations, useful instructions, wonderful stories, tasty food and a witnessing of the incredible care levels of their dogs. Believe me, it’s a should be on your bucket list. So exhilarating!
