It is fun to see them “come alive” more after the warm temperatures we had this summer.
We had the busiest summer in the 31 years we have been in business guiding canoe trips. It was nice to see so many people getting out on the water and into the woods, connecting with nature. Many people made friendships with others on the trips that will last a lifetime. Our work is very rewarding!
Kevin has been building a couple wood canvas canoes in his wood shop with a couple gentlemen this summer. They are looking very nice!
Polly was chosen as one of the “Women to Watch” in 2021 for Maine Biz. This is quite an honor and she went to Portland last week to receive her award.
Our business is one of 24 finalists for the Maine Owned Small Family Business Award. The winner will be chosen next week at the annual banquet and awards ceremony. We feel privileged to have made it this far in the selection of over 165 businesses in Maine were nominated.
It isn’t too early to book a dog sledding trip for this winter. Here is a
short video made by Makers of Maine last winter about their experience with us. Click here for our 2022 winter schedule.
Here is another “vintage” video made by Activity Guide of Maine who was out with us a few years ago. Thanks Stan for the good job putting this together!
We will be hosting a wilderness first aid and open recertification course October 22-24th in our lodge taught by Jon Tierney from Wilderness Medical Associates. There are a few spaces left.
Polly will be guiding a canoe day on October 16th in the Umbagog Lake area. If you are interested in signing up contact us.
Hope you are getting out enjoying the change of the seasons!
Happy trails! Polly, Kevin & all the doggies

Canoeists must use designated campsites on the waterway and there is no reservation system. In peak periods if paddlers don’t secure a campsite by mid-day or shortly thereafter, they may end up […]
For many avid canoeists, the Allagash River Canoe Trip is on their bucket list, and for good reason. Protected by the citizens of Maine through a referendum in 1966, the mandate was to preserve its “forever wild” state. It truly is some of the wildest areas left in the east. In this article, we’ll help […]
Kevin & Polly, We had such an amazing experience on our 3 day Umbagog Lake trip. You both were wonderful and a pleasure to watch you work. We will remember and cherish that weekend for the rest of our lives. Hope to get back again to visit and have another adventure! Thank you!
