Happy August to Everyone!
Summer is winding down but we are still going!
Summer is winding down but we are still going!
We have had many canoe trips in July and August with happy clients making memories to last a lifetime! Some of these trips have been put off for a couple years due to Covid travel restrictions. I believe the trip was worth the wait!
The dogs are definitely relieved to have the temperatures dropping as the intense heat we felt at times in late July is hard on sled dogs. Some of the holes in the dog pastures have gotten deeper providing comfort in the cool ground.
Polly has been guiding the canoe trips in July and August while Kevin is working on some much needed maintenance on the home front and our winter trail system for the dog sledding trips.
We have room on a couple more canoe trips this fall for anyone still wanting to get out on the water before freeze up:
Way of the Wabanaki – September 15 – 18
Allagash Fall Foliage – September 27 – October 2

For anyone wanting to learn wilderness first aid or recertify your first aid/first responder, we will be hosting a course in our lodge October 21-23rd. Contact us for more details.
Hope you are all enjoying the remainder of our summer!

There hasn't been any slowing down here at Mahoosuc despite the rainy weather we experienced this summer. People have been having a great time on the water and in the woods!

I was impressed with your knowledge of the river, technical skills, and ability to manage everything, including transportation, canoes, campsites, food and helping all of us have a good time. I was sorry that we didn’t give you the floor more of the time because your stories were so cool and I could tell you were just scratching the surface. Your guiding was great and there’s nothing I can think of for how you could have done it any better.
