Siobhan went to doggy heaven today. She was one of Kevin’s dogs and always up for anything. She loved people and children and whenever anyone came to visit the kennel she always thought they came to see her! She ran in any position in the team and was versatile sometimes going with Polly’s teams if there was a need. She worked last winter in harness and had moved into our doggy retirement community this summer to keep her brother, Angus, company.

Siobhan was 11 1/2 years old. She was lucky enough to go with Kevin on some canoe trips and made a trip down the Allagash River and St John (Wolistoq) River in northern Maine.
We will miss her…
Kevin, Polly & all the doggies
Guided Allagash river trips are one of the most pleasant and relaxing canoe trips in Maine. You can see Moose, Eagles, and all the wildlife.
I have been guiding on the Allagash river since 1974 and over the years I’ve seen a distinct pattern in terms of usage. Canoeists must use designated campsites on the waterway and there is no reservation system. In peak periods if paddlers don’t secure a campsite by mid-day or shortly thereafter, they may end up […]
For many avid canoeists, the Allagash River Canoe Trip is on their bucket list, and for good reason. Protected by the citizens of Maine through a referendum in 1966, the mandate was to preserve its “forever wild” state. It truly is some of the wildest areas left in the east. In this article, we’ll help […]
The long drive home yesterday would have been a lot worse were it not for the fact that my head was spinning with happy memories and a feeling of accomplishment. As I drove, I reviewed my life and realized I’d discovered something new about myself – that camping is something I should have done long ago! I also realized that what made our outing so fabulous was your extraordinary leadership and ability, coupled with a delightful personality, patience and sense of humor. I can think of no way to sum up my words of thanks and appreciation to you. I keep coming up with an incredible WOW to describe four perfectly wonderful days. I am very grateful to Kevin for his wonderful canoes.
