Nestled on 60 acres in the beautiful Bear River Valley of Newry, the lodge is a traditional New England timberframe featuring hand cut mortise and tenon joinery. It is the home base of Mahoosuc Guide Service and their working sled dogs.
In addition to the Lodge the original 3 bedroom (shared bathroom) farmhouse built in 1903 has been renovated and is available to rent for an event or function. The attached barn of the farmhouse is a workshop where canoes, paddles, dogsleds and other traditional equipment are made.
The Lodge facilities have two bunkrooms each with it’s own bathroom. Maximum sleeping capacity for the Lodge is sixteen. There is a large kitchen/dining hall area capable of seating 25 people comfortably.
The first floor (or Great Room) is a large open (no posts) room suitable for anything from barn dances to yoga workshops. It has over 1300 square feet of open space. The great room has comfortable seating for 85 for a catered meal.
