Canoe Trips in Maine – June 2020

Here are some of the highlights here at Mahoosuc for the month of June, so far…

We are pleased to announce that the state of Maine is slowly opening up and we are now allowed to guide residents of Maine, NH, VT. Also people from other states with the proof of a negative Covid-19 test 72 hours before their trip. We are very happy about this new regulation!

Kevin guides some day fishing excursions in the local waters. Seems to be popular for father and sons.

Polly gives the keynote speech at the Kroka high school semester graduation in Marlow, New Hampshire. These students spent 18 days here with us in April making their own wood paddles with Kevin, doing service and enjoying the dogs!

Alpha female of Polly’s kennel, Dougette, passes, a sad day…

Forest Society of Maine asks Polly to be on their board, she accepts and attends annual meeting. This well respected organization is the Land Trust for the North Maine Woods and rated one of the top five land trusts in the country.

We are so happy to have made strong connections with Cree, Inuit and Penobscot people to learn from and guide with for over three decades. This relationship is invaluable and we are happy to share this with you on some of our trips.

Hope you are enjoying your summer and this beautiful stretch of weather we are having!

Here is a little video taken of Amber, Polly’s lead dog and Dougette’s daughter, in the dog yard…
