Polly just guided a canoe trip with a group of family and friends on the Allagash River. This particular group liked to sing which was special and they brought along a ukulele which was fun! One evening we had a contra dance on the bank by the river’s edge. One of the members of our group is a caller for Belfast Flying Shoes, so we were in good hands to have a fun dance on the river!

Kevin recently guided a canoe trip on the East Branch of the Penobscot River. Click here to read a blog that Kevin wrote for Friends of Katahdin Woods and Water about his experience on the East Branch for the last 50 years. Click here to view a really nice video produced for Bill Green’s Maine TV show a few years ago. It is very well done!

We still have a few spots on our Way of the Wabanaki trips, August 10-13th and September 14-17th. Click here to read a nice article written about this trip from last summer for the magazine Green and Healthy Maine.

Polly is a board member for the Forest Society of Maine and just attended our annual meeting at the New England Outdoor Center in Millinocket. It was a great gathering of people and an interesting talk given by Penobscot Bonnie Newsom about the Wabanaki history around Millinocket Lake.

Olga has now officially retired into our doggy retirement home in our house. She LOVES being in the house but also loves to visit everyone in the dog yard. She is Polly’s side kick on canoe trips!

The “Wild Girls Program” from Kroka Expeditions just visited here and helped us finish stacking our firewood which we are grateful for and gave the dogs some loving!

Hope you are all having a good summer!

Polly, Kevin & all the doggies
